SUPPORT THE RESILIENCE OF BLACK, BROWN & ASIAN ORGANIZERS

I imagine a world where we are all free, sharing power, and living joyous lives. On some days, it's harder than others, to imagine how we will get there. But one thing I know for sure is that we must build more people power. It's all we've got against a government and economy run by a few wealthy people and corporations.

But how do we do that in a way that we can sustain? How do we do that in a way where folks don't burn out, but instead feel cared for and powered up for the long haul? How do we do that in a way that brings more and more folks, especially those with the least power in our society, along?

We build strong organizations that last and are irresistible. We build organizations that develop leaders and train them up in organizing skills, political education, and social-emotional capacities. And we learn collective and personal resilience skills that sustain us for generations to come. That's what The Organizing Center does, and why I work here.

The Organizing Center runs Resilient Futures–a program for Black and Brown organizers and their directors to learn, assess and apply resilience frameworks and individual and collective practices for the leadership development of staff, the transformation of organizational culture, and the sustenance of long-term collective resistance.
