SUPPORT THE RESILIENCE OF BLACK, BROWN & ASIAN ORGANIZERS

by The Organizing Center

Christi Clark

I know too many used-to-be organizers. Too many brilliant, powerful, committed people rooted in their communities and willing to fight for the change they believe in. I have seen too much skill and generational knowledge lost to burn out and hopelessness. I have also seen that it doesn't have to be this way. There are organizers and organizations that have learned collective and personal resilience practices that sustain them for the long haul. I'm so proud of the Resilient Futures program we run that supports a new generation of organizers to learn these skills.

This program supports Black, Brown & Asian organizers and their directors to learn, assess and apply resilience frameworks and individual and collective practices for the leadership development of staff, the transformation of organizational culture, and the sustenance of long-term collective resistance. Donating now will support us to host an in-person retreat for this cohort.

The Organizing Center is launching our annual Fundraising Leap. This year we are working to raise $30,000 by December 8th to support our Resilient Futures cohorts for Black, Brown and Asian organizers and their directors.

Every year The Organizing Center supports hundreds of organizers to grow their skills in the fundamentals of organizing and to transform their practices so that they build the resilience that will sustain them for the long-haul. In order to do this we need you!

We offer low-cost, sometimes even free, workshops and coaching to organizations that, themselves, are struggling to make ends meet. We're committed to supporting the growth of powerful base building projects- no matter their ability to pay. With your support we can continue this critical work in a time when building community power is so necessary.

Resilient Futures is one of our keystone peer learning labs. Designed for Black, Brown, & Asian organizers and their directors, we run two parallel cohorts to support organizers to build resilience practices and directors to build a culture of resilience in their organization.
